Leading across All The Growth Engines

Priya Agarwal Hebbar

Non-executive Director

Dear
Stakeholders

We are at the dawn of a new era in the Vedanta journey. And I am pleased to share that we have done that on the back of an excellent performance. This year, we continued to break new ground, not just in financial metrics but in the way we work and the way we do business.

The structural demerger we initiated last year is now fully approved and implemented, unlocking a new evolutionary phase: Vedanta 2.0. This milestone has successfully unleashed the independent growth potential of our businesses, creating an agile, future-ready structure built around critical minerals, energy transition, and technology. Backed by a powerful generational and operational shift, Vedanta 2.0 is firmly on a path of rapid expansion and high-value creation.

Driven by these transformational efforts, backed by cost optimisation measures and enhanced operational efficiency, Vedanta delivered its best-ever financial performance during FY 2025-26, with a revenue of ₹ 1,74,075 crore and EBITDA of ₹ 55,976 crore. This performance underscores our resolute commitment to growth, innovation, and sustainable practices. We are proud of our operational excellence, which has equipped us to lead the way for India to grow sustainably as it evolves into a global economic powerhouse.

Partnering in India’s Sustainability Journey

Our vision for Vedanta 2.0 is deeply aligned with India’s goal of self-sufficiency. As the government actively accelerates its critical mineral mission, Vedanta has emerged as the preferred bidder for ten strategic mineral blocks. By securing these resources, we are directly powering the nation’s long-term energy transition and industrial growth, securing vital supply chains for a sustainable tomorrow.

Committed to Holistic ESG-Led Growth

At Vedanta, we believe that sustainability is the smartest path to long-term business growth. Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles form the absolute pivot of our future growth strategy, a commitment validated by our top-tier global rankings.

Notably, our subsidiary, Hindustan Zinc Limited, secured the top position globally in the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) sector rankings and became the first Indian company to join the prestigious ICMM. Concurrently, Vedanta Aluminium ranked 2nd globally among its peers.

We are making exemplary progress toward our ‘Net Zero by 2050’ goal, aiming to prevent nearly 1 gigaton of GHG emissions. Remarkably, three of our businesses are on track to achieve net-zero carbon operations within the next decade, well ahead of schedule.

As one of the world’s largest corporate procurers of renewable energy, we utilised approximately 4 billion units of RE in FY 2025-26. To manage the near-term emissions peak from our ongoing growth expansions across aluminium, steel, HZL, VZI, and FACOR, we are aggressively scaling our Round-The-Clock (RE-RTC) capabilities. We are well on our way to securing 2.5 GW of RE-RTC power by 2030, supported by the deployment of ~1,906 MW through active Power Delivery Agreements.

Beyond carbon, we continue to advance our metrics for becoming net water-positive, preserving biodiversity, and deepening our social licence to operate. Our strategic partnerships with the World Economic Forum’s Trillion Tree Initiative, the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, and the Indian Business Biodiversity Initiative remain vital catalysts in realising these ambitions.

Nurturing an Inclusive & Empowered Workforce

At Vedanta, our 1,00,000+ strong inclusive workforce is our greatest asset. Through progressive talent initiatives like the V-Aspire development programme, we are actively identifying and nurturing home-grown leaders to spearhead our next chapter.

Diversity is a core driver of our high-performance culture. In a major milestone, we achieved 23% gender diversity in our executive workforce this year, surpassing our 2030 target of 20% ahead of time. This inclusion is visible at the very frontlines of our heavy engineering operations.

It is a matter of pride that we have launched ‘Tejaswini’, All-Women team leading operations at the leaching and purification section across all shifts at Chanderiya Smelting Complex – one of the world’s largest and most technologically advanced zinc smelting facilities. In another major initiative, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has converted an entire smelter line at its operations in Jharsuguda, Odisha, to be operated and maintained exclusively by women employees, reinforcing Industry-Leading Gender Inclusion. Notably, the Jharsuguda smelter is one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters.

Furthermore, we are breaking boundaries in workplace inclusivity for the LGBTQIA+ community. With 45 trans and queer professionals thriving in front-line roles, we have backed our commitment with a path-breaking gender affirmation policy, providing medical assistance of up to ₹ 2,00,000 for gender transition surgeries.

Beyond carbon, we are also continually strengthening our efforts towards becoming a net water positive company and minimising the impact of our business on biodiversity

Giving Back to the Society

Guided by our philosophy of ‘Transforming for Good’, we are committed to positively impact communities that are around us. We have so far positively impacted over 50 million lives in India, and this number will only continue to increase in the coming years.

Our flagship movement, Nand Ghar, continues to spearhead holistic early childhood development and maternal empowerment across rural India. Driven by our Chairman’s vision that no child should go to bed hungry and every child must have equal opportunities, we have already transformed 12,769 Anganwadis into modern, state-of-the-art rural crèches. Our ultimate ambition remains to support the transformation of the nation’s broader network of 14 lakhs centres.

The prospects before us are profoundly exciting. The global energy transition will not just be low-carbon; it will be highly mineral-intensive. The metals, mining, and energy sectors hold the definitive key to a sustainable future, and Vedanta is uniquely positioned to lead this paradigm shift.

The trust and partnership of stakeholders continue to be the foundation of Vedanta’s progress. Together, we will continue to build a secure, self-reliant, and sustainable future.

Sincerely,

Priya Agarwal Hebbar Non-executive Director
