Vedanta Jharsuguda’s CSR policy focuses on children’s well-being & education; women’s empowerment; health care; drinking water & sanitation; agriculture & animal husbandry; skilling the youth for new opportunities; environment protection & restoration; sports & culture; development of community infrastructure; and participate in programs of national importance including but not limited to disaster mitigation, rescue, relief & rehabilitation. CSR plays a key role within Vedanta Jharsuguda’s overall strategy to promote social and economic development amongst the local communities and broader society in which it operates.

An overview of our CSR activities

Project Vidyagraha

Project Vidyagraha initiative bolsters secondary education and digital learning for government school students. Implemented in 7 government schools in Jharsuguda, the project aims to enhance students' performance in Math, English, and Science during board exams.

Vedanta-DAV Education Support

This programme aims at providing quality English-medium education to children from poor and displaced families in DAV Public School, Jharsuguda.

Vedanta Computer Literacy Programme (VCLP)

More than 700 students got access to basic computer knowledge through centers at the peripheral villages and schools.

Vedanta Mini Science Centre

Covered more than 1200 students across 5 schools to enhance learning aptitude of students in science and mathematics in more effective and interesting way through models and IEC material.

MO School Abhiyan

Benefitting 704 students of 4 schools in Jharsuguda through government school upgradation.

Vedanta BUDHHI Kit

Promoting Artificial Intelligence at Jharsuguda (first of its kind) and benefiting over 400 children studying in CBSE/ICSE schools by providing highly interactive Do-It Yourself educational kits.

Mobile Health Unit (MHU)

Providing primary doorstep healthcare services through MHU to 16,000+ people annually across 28 villages, 2 special schools & 1 old age home.

Nikshay Mitra

Partnered up with the District Health Department as part of ending tuberculosis by 2025 strategy of by distributing 700+ nutritional food kits and providing counselling to the identified TB patients.

State-of-the-Art Diagnostic Centre

Dedicated 2 diagnostic centres in Jharsuguda and Laikera to the community with cutting-edge facilities for radiology and pathology tests, including MRI and CT scan.

Jal Seva Shibir:

Drinking water support to Jharsuguda municipality in 11 wards in 16 locations benefiting approximately 1.90 L people.

Pond Renovation

Renovated and restored 61 community ponds in two blocks of Jharsuguda District.

Project Jeevika Samridhhi

The project aims to enhance the economic prosperity and living standards of farming households across three villages in Jharsuguda district through sustainable agriculture and climate-smart practices.

Football Training

Providing football training to 68 children of core & periphery villages in association with nationally recognized academy, Ardor Football Academy.

Project Kalakriti

Project “Kalakriti” is an entrepreneurial CSR initiative to empower women and promote local art, culture and handicraft and provide a sustainable means of livelihood opportunities.

Project Sakshyam

Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda, recognizing the need for skill development among local youth, launched Project Sakshyam.

Project Subhalaxmi Cooperative

Subhalaxmi Cooperative is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged women by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Project Saukhyam

Saukhyam is a low-cost sanitary napkin manufacturing unit inaugurated in September, 2023 in presence of ARCS, Jharsuguda.
