The Animal Care Organization (TACO)

The Animal Care Organization (TACO) was launched in 2022 as a unique animal welfare project aimed at creating a world-class sustainable, and scalable ecosystem for the well-being of animals.

The initiative is guided by the concept of 'One Health', a crucial element for animal-human co-existence and welfare of animals. TACO’s six pillars of shelter, veterinary hospital, academy, wildlife conservation, disaster relief efforts, and sectoral engagement focus on the development of international standards for animal welfare.

TACO’s shelter in Faridabad, Haryana, is home to over 160 animals, including cows, bulls, and dogs, focusing on rescue, rehabilitation, advanced veterinary care, and overall well-being. It unveiled a multi-specialty veterinary hospital at the shelter, focused on advanced animal healthcare where it also runs Mobile Health Van and Ambulance services.

In its effort towards wildlife conservation, TACO collaborated with the Forest Department, Government of Rajasthan, by providing seven patrolling vehicles at Ranthambore National Park to enhance on-ground surveillance efforts. It also signed an MoU with Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in Assam, to provide a surveillance centre and dwelling units for frontline workers who are at the forefront of the Park’s conservation efforts for endangered species such as one-horned rhinos, Asiatic elephants and Bengal tigers.
